KARACHI: Pakistani skipper Babar Azam scored a well-fought hundred against Australia on Day 4 of the second Test, which was his first century in red-ball cricket since 2020.

The Green Caps’ captain came out at the crease when his team was suffering at 21-2, having lost Imam-ul-Haq and experienced Azhar Ali earlier. He alongside young Abdullah Shafique rescued the hosts, fighting out for two sessions on the fourth day.

Meanwhile, Babar completed his sixth Test century and his first during last two years. His last century was against Bangladesh at Pindi Stadium in February 2020.

Also, Babar became the only Pakistani captain after Younis Khan to score a century in fourth innings of a Test.
