On the second day of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the Multan Sultans defeated the Lahore Qalandars by 52 runs. After winning the toss and batting first, the Multan players were a bit cautious and took a lot of risks. Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan both made fifty-five and 60 runs respectively, and the pair formed a score of 86 for the second wicket. However, they were eventually dismissed for only 82 runs. After losing the wicket of Abdullah Shafiq, Kamran Ghulam made an unimpressive 28 runs and was then sent back to the pavilion.

The first innings ended in a stalemate, as Lahore Qalandars won the toss and elected to bowl first. This left the lower order to bat, and the match was lost in the end. The team suffered its first defeat in PSL 7. In the second innings, the hosts were bowled out for 183. In reply, Tim David and Khushdil Shah scored forty-one runs each off 35 balls, respectively.

In the fourth innings, the Multan Sultans won the toss and elected to bowl. In the second innings, the Lahore Qalandars set a target of 183, which they achieved by scoring 61 off 37 balls. In the seventh innings, Multan Sultans managed to post a score of 183-runs, and they went on to win the PSL title in the process.
