Usman Khawaja (97) missed his century by just three runs but his brilliant innings from David Warner (68) and Marnus Labuschagne (69 not out) gave Australia a convincing reply to Pakistan on the third day on Sunday in their first innings. Scored 271 runs for the loss of wickets. Australia is currently 205 runs behind Pakistan’s score. However, play had to be stopped due to bad light and the day’s play was called off 21 overs ago.

Pakistan declared the innings on the second day on Saturday after making a strong score of 476 for four. Australia went ahead with five runs without losing any wicket yesterday. Khawaja and Warner shared a 156-run partnership for the first wicket. After Warner’s wicket fell, Khawaja added 49 runs for the second wicket with Labuschagne.

Khawaja was close to a century but Nauman Ali caught him at the hands of Imam-ul-Haq. Khawaja scored 97 runs in 159 balls with the help of 15 fours. Warner scored 68 runs in 114 balls with the help of 12 fours. At stumps, Steve Smith was present with Labuschagne for 24 runs in 55 balls. Labuschagne scored an unbeaten 69 off 117 balls with the help of nine fours.
