Rohit Sharma Was Looking to Hit Every Ball

Indian batting legend Sunil Gavaskar questioned captain Rohit Sharma’s approach in the recently played third T20 International against Sri Lanka in Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala on February 27.

India won the match by six wickets and pocketed the series 3-0, the third straight whitewash in white-ball matches in India. India had previously beaten West Indies in ODIs and T20Is 3-0 each and before them, had beaten New Zealand 3-0 in the T20I series. This was also India’s record-equaling 12th consecutive T20I win taking them at par with Afghanistan and Romania.

Meanwhile, Gavaskar said that he was disappointed with Rohit Sharma’s batting in the third T20I, as he managed only five runs off nine balls, and fell trying to hit a pull shot against Dushmantha Chameera, only to inside edge the ball onto his stumps.
